Frequently Asked Questions.
This page will be devoted to answering commonly asked questions about our educational courses.
Q: Do you offer any scholarships to the courses?
No, not at this time. However, this may be an option offered in the future.
Q: Do you offer payment plans for the courses?
No, not at this time. We do accept payment via PAYPAL which also accepts major credit cards. Our courses are affordable and include mentorship support during the program study without additional fees.
Q: Are there any additional materials/supplies that students are required to purchase?
Students will be responsible for purchasing any aromatherapy (and or flower essence) supplies (essential oils, carrier oils, botanicals, flower essences, bottles, labels, etc.) on their own. These items are not included in the course/s. There will also be a list of recommended reading, however, please note that the purchase of additional books is not required and is more so for the student’s awareness and to add to their knowledge base on particular topics such as Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Note: A list of reputable suppliers will be provided for registered students. We support small businesses that work from a mindful and ethical framework based on sustainability for the plants and care of our planet.
Q: May I be exempt from a Level 1 course?
There are no exemptions for taking the Level 1 course/s. Our courses are specific to ‘animals’ versus ‘human’ aromatherapy. Yet, while studying these programs many students find that they get a bonus learning experience as they experience often the connection between themselves and their animal friends, and how they may both resonate with the same botanicals. Both Animal Aromatherapy/Flower Essences are different from Human Aromatherapy/Flower Essence Therapy and require a strong foundation in safety, cautions, and contraindications specific to animals. Our level I course goes beyond the basics of aromatherapy/flower essences and sets the tone for the overall certification course while giving the student a clear understanding of the use of animal aromatics and flower essences.
Q: Do I need to complete the course/s within a set timeframe?
The course program is self-paced and students can access the materials at any time that is convenient to their schedule. The courses are meant to be studied and completed from a ‘quality’ standpoint (not for rushing through in order to get a ‘certificate’). We require that the specific amount of hours listed for each course be completed from a methodical and thoughtful immersion of study focused on getting to know the essential oil via their profiles and their individuality, along with developing a strong sense of awareness when working with your and other’s animal friends. The important factor here is that students ‘learn’ and feel ’empowered’ vs. seeking just a piece of paper to hang on the wall.
Q: If I have a question during the coursework, what do I do?
Submit your question/s pertaining to the coursework directly to the instructor via the online contact us form. You may also post general questions to the facebook group designated for students only.
Q: What can I call myself after successfully completing the course and receiving the certificate of completion?
Please note that aromatherapy is not a regulated profession in the United States and therefore there is no set credential designation recognized by any government agency or individual State Board. What a student can state is that they have completed studies in x, y, z-program, etc. Students can also use the specific description provided by their school program. Students that successfully complete our full certification course are welcome to use the following description title: Certified Animal Aromatherapy Practitioner(sm). Completion of this course allows graduates to apply for membership with NAHA (National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy), H.A.A. (Holistic Animal (Aromatherapy) Association) and use course hours for CE (Continuing Education) with all, and including CFA (Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists). Students may also explore the option to sit for the ARC (Aromatherapy Registration Council) RA (Registered Aromatherapist) exam.
All students that successfully complete each course will receive a ‘certificate of completion’ for individual courses as well as a final course completion certificate. Certificates can be printed out and framed.
Q: If I am not a student can I submit questions and details asking about aromatherapy with my own animal/s?
Yes, there are several different options available via the Consultation Services.
I also devote a significant amount of time volunteering answering basic questions via my Facebook group called Animal Aromatherapy (Safe Use). This group is for educational awareness only and is not meant to take the place of professional healthcare, nor for use as an individual consultation service.
