The focus of this course is give the student a strong foundation in the safe use of essential oils and botanical bases with certain animals. Course information is applicable for dogs, horses and some farm animals.

Essential Oil Cautions

This module will cover important safety cautions including: sensitization issues, phototoxic reactions, mucous membrane and dermal irritants as well as which essential oils to avoid during pregnancy and with certain health disorders such as epilepsy.

Level I Assignment (Essential Oil Profiles)

This course module assignment is to empower the student about the importance of an essential oil profile and gathering data on its use for future case study building. The assignment also encourages the use of the internet as a search tool for additional information (good and bad) that may be useful in expanding awareness on individual oils and carriers.

Level I Course Case Study Requirement

Students must submit five case studies pertaining to animal aromatherapy. Students can work with their own animal/s or a family/friend’s animal, or seek permission from a local animal rescue center, farm, etc.
